The ability to identify ferns is needed on Biology learning in the course of plant because it is in accordance with the core and base competency on curriculum 2013. The aim of this research is knowing what fern that in Tourism Botanical Garden Sukorambi Jember and how the result of the Supplement book defelopment that can be gotten  from the identification of the ferns. This research use Sampling method that is line transect method. Based on the results of the ferns inventory identification in Tourism Botanical Garden Sukorambi Jember, there were 2 Classes, 2 Order , 11 Family,12 Genus and 21 Species: Pteris ensiformis Burn.f, Christella Arida, Pteris biaurita L; Pteris tripartita Sw; Adiantum sp; Adiantum sp; Lygodium circinatum (Burm.f.) Sw; Adiantum sp; Microlepia strigosa (Thunb.) C.Presl; Microsorum rubidum (J.Sm.) Copel ; Christella dentata (Forssk.) Brownsey & Jermy; Microsorum sp ; Nephrolepis hirsutula (G.Fors.) C.Presl; Diplazium esculentum (Retz.)Sw ; Pteris vittata L ; Nephrolepis cordifolia (L.) C.Presl; Selaginella plana (Desv.ex Poir.)Hieron; Pytirogamma calomenalos (L.)Link; Adiantum trapeziforme L; pyrrosia piloselloides (L.)MGPrice; Tectaria polimorpha (Wal.ex Hook) Copel., The result of study towards validation test of supplement books by the expert validators consisting of  lecturers from FKIP and teachers from SMAN in Jember obtained validation results with a decision to revise by re-examining carefully and looking for the weaknesses of the product to be refined. From the reaserch, it can be conclude that the class of Pteropsida was found 20 Species and Class of lycopsida only 1 Species. Class of Pteropsida are dominate than Lycopsida because the tempetature, high of location, PH and intencity of light are consist with pteropsida.

Identifikasi Serangga Hama pada Polong Akasia (Acacia nilotica (L.) Willd. ex Del.) sebagai Basis Konservasi Savana di Taman Nasional Baluran

Oleh: Martin Artiyono Pratama
The Savanna Baluran's National Park had ecological damaged and reduction caused by Acacia nilotica invasion. One of effort which is not implemented before it was eradication of Acacia nilotica with biologycal control. For example with the insect. The aim of this research to investigate species of insect in pods of Acacia nilotica. This research used survey method of savanna area that had been  invasived by Acacia nilotica. The result of the research, there are 4 insects species pod's pests Acacia nilotica; Careydon serratus, Dinoderus sp., Stathmopoda sp., and species 1 (Pyralidae). The research result showed 4 insect species can exploit pods of Acacia nilotica.

Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran GI (Group Investigation) Menggunakan Strategi Inkuiri Terbimbing (Guided Inquiry) terhadap Aktivitas dan Hasil Belajar Siswa (Mata Pelajaran Biologi Subpokok Bahasan Sistem Peredaran Darah Pada Manusia Kelas XI Semester I Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 MAN 1 Jember)

The low quality of education in Indonesia required serious efforts to control because it can lead to low competitiveness of Indonesia compared to the international community.  Group Investigation model using guided inquiry strategy is expected to be an alternative to improve the quality of education, because it is potential to increased the students activity and learning achivement. This study aims to determine the effect of group investigation model using guided inquiry strategies on activity and student learning achivement. This study was quasi- experimental research with pre-test and post-test non equivalent design. Samples were divided into two treatment groups, named the control class using the conventional learning model and experimental class with group investigation model using guided inquiry strategies. The study was conducted as two meetings in each class and then the data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (Ancova) for learning achivement and t -test analysis for the learning activities in the treatment class. From the Ancova analysis, the results obtained a significant effect (Sig 0.03) on student learning achivement and the t -test analysis showed a significant differences (Sig 0.00) on the students' learning activities. From this experiment, it can be concluded that the group investigation model using guided inquiry strategies had an influence on the activity and student learning achivement.
